Celebrates International Women's Day

On 8 March 2012, Savlon Freedom Sanitary Napkin celebrated the 101st Anniversary of International Women's Day at ACI Centre. Organized jointly by Savlon Freedom and Canvas-Persona, the event "Ajker Nari Acknowledgement Award 2012" aimed to recognize and honor successful women individuals who made significant contributions to the society. The celebration was attended by 230 female professionals from 20 different corporate houses.

Guest of Honors at the ceremony were Ms. Ferdousi Priyabhashini, renowned sculptor and freedom fighter and Ms. Rasheda K Chowdhury, former Advisor to the Caretaker Government. Moreover, Ms. Kaniz Almas Khan, Managing Director, Persona; Mr. Syed Alamgir, Executive Director, Consumer Brands and Managing Director, ACI Salt; Ms. Sheema Abed Rahman, Director, Corporate Affairs, ACI Limited were present to give away the awards at the event.

Renowned women achievers acknowledged for their outstanding contribution in respective fields included Ms. Selima M. Ahmed, Social Worker; Ms. Jobera Rahman Linu, Sports; Ms. Maheen Khan, Fashion Designing; Ms. Afroza Bari, Entrepreneur; Ms. Kanak Chapa Chakma, Fine Arts; Prof. Dr. Kishwar Azad, Health; Ms. Rumpa Rai Chakraborty, Agriculture and Ms. Rubina Hossain Faruq, Hospitality Management. "Savlon Freedom" believes in women empowerment in the society.
