Freedom Celebrates Menstrual Hygiene Day and Launches 125 Vending Machines

Freedom Sanitary Napkin has successfully launched two massive campaigns simultaneously to promote menstrual hygiene awareness among the women of Bangladesh. The first campaign focused on Menstrual Hygiene Day which is globally celebrated around the world and the other one highlighted successful completion of 125 sanitary napkin vending machines launch all over the country.

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2022 (28th May), Freedom partnered with top 6 news channels (Somoy TV, Ekattor TV, News 24, Jamuna TV, ATN News, DBC News) and top 8 dailies (Prothom Alo, Kaler Kantha, Jugantor, Samakal, Bonik Barta, The Buiness Standard, Amader Shomoy, Ittefaq) by creating branded news segments to promote menstrual hygiene practices where mass people shared their opinion on taboos prevailing in society regarding menstruation. The news also highlighted how Freedom has been breaking these taboos through its different awareness programs and making sanitary pads available and affordable everywhere through its vending machine network.

Additionally, Freedom in association with Prothom Alo and The Daily Star digital teams have jointly launched two separate online campaigns where renowned social influencers and women professionals have come forward to share their success stories and inspired other women not to allow period become an obstacle in achieving their life goals. To support this year’s theme of Menstrual Hygiene Day – #WeAreCommitted, Freedom has successfully completed establishing 125 vending machines so far in different institutions of the country to lessen the hassle of women during sudden menstrual emergency. Currently more than 3 million women directly have access to these machines which have eased their pain of having sanitary pads available during period. To celebrate this milestone, an integrated PR campaign focusing on the importance and benefits of having napkin vending machines has been run throughout the week of Menstrual Hygiene Day. In this campaign, Freedom has partnered with 20 news channels including all top ones like Ekattor TV, Jamuna TV, ETV, DBC News, Channel 24 etc. Additionally Freedom vending machine was featured by 18 online and offline news publishers of which 9 featured the news in their print versions also.
